Nouns and Tense

When referring to noun groups, tense can be changed in the following ways:

N 남자 — the man V + ㄴ N 만난 남자 — the man I met V + 는 N 만나는 만자 — the man I meet/am meeting V + ㄹ N 만날 남자 — the man I will meet

제가 결혼할 여자는 똑똑하고 성실했으면 좋겠어요.

I hope that the woman I’ll marry will be smart and sincere.

다닌 결혼식은 2시간 이상 걸렸어요.

The wedding I attended ran for over two hours.

읽는 책을 이해하는 것을 힘들어요.

The book I’m reading is difficult to understand.

제가 만드는 음악과 듣는 음악은 아주 달라요.

The music I make is very different from the music I listen to.

그는 경찰관에게 그를 공격한 사람을 못 봤다고 말했어요

He told the police that he couldn’t see the man who attacked him.

잠을 자려고 노력할때 듣는 이상한 소리는 고양이를 통해 만들어집니다.

The strange sound I hear when I’m trying to sleep is (made by) the cats.

영화 클럽에서 만난 사람들은 역사적인 영화를 보는 것을 선호해요.

The people I meet at movie club prefer watching historical movies.
