On the way to being/doing (from now): 해 갔다

A/V + 해 갔다 is effectively the opposite of 해 왔다. It means that an action or state is continuing now, and is on the way to completion:

사라져 가는 동물들을 보호해야 해요.

We need to protect animals that are becoming extinct.

참을성이 다 되어 가요… 그만하시죠!

My patience is wearing thin (it’s almost all done)… I said quit it!

이제부터 한국어를 열심히 공부해 가겠어요.

I’ll start (the process of) studying Korean from now.

그 프로젝트는 잘 되어 가고 있어요.

The project is going well.

더 많은 사람들이 TV 중독자가 되어 가는 것 같아요.

More and more young people are becoming addicted to TV.

리야드는 매일 변해 가요.

Riyadh is constantly changing.

휴가가 거의 끝나 가요.

The holidays are almost over.

음식이 식어가요.

The food is getting cold.

점점 쇠진해 갔어요.

I’m running out of energy.

The project is almost complete.

Interest in politics has subsided.
