It couldn't be more A: 기 짝이 없다

A + 기 짝이 없다 is an emphatic expression giving the extreme form of an adjective: ’it couldn’t be more A’. It is almost always used to emphasise negative or undesirable behaviour:

우리 부장은 무능하기 짝이 없어요.

Our boss couldn’t be any more incompetent.

일이 엄청하기 짝이 없어요.

I’ve got a ton of work to do.

그의 생각은 어리석기 짝이 없어요.

His ideas are utterly ridiculous.

여자는 예쁘기는 하지만 오만하기 짝이 없어요.

She’s pretty, but she’s incredibly arrogant.

그 학생은 건방지기 짝이 없어요.

The student is extremely cocky.
