I wonder: 나요?

A/V + 나요? is a soft interrogative form similar to “I wonder…”. It can be substituted with 으/은/는가(요)? with very little change in meaning:

홈플러스에 프랑스의 치즈가 있나요?

(I wonder) how long does it take to go from here to Suseungdae?

(I wonder) if I study Korean every day will my pronunciation get better?

(I wonder) if I go to Paris by car will it be cheaper than taking the bus?

(I wonder) is it OK if I come to work an hour later tomorrow?

(I wonder) is it possible to change seats?

  1. Hi. English isn’t my first language, so I’m sorry for any mistakes (I’m from Brazil). Today it’s the first time I visit your website… I just want to thank you for this amazing resource and to ask you to continue doing it. 🙂

    • Wow! Thank you so much for your feedback! I am so glad that it’s useful to you. (And no apology is necessary – as my Korean teacher tells me, all the learning is in the mistakes!) ^^
